I know I'm late in the game given that Sunday is Halloween but since I have been out of town and it's still almost 90 degrees here I haven't felt much like fall decorating. I have made a few small changes like making new pillow covers and a fun fall arrangement but I'm keep it low key this year. We do have company coming next weekend so I'm thinking a simple pumpkin tablescape will be just what we need to complete my fall decor. We are also hosting Thanksgiving so it can last us through most of November as well.
I love simple arrangements of a variety of pumpkins and gourds.
This mantle is so amazing! Maybe sticking with white/green pumpkins is the way to go
I love the height this arrangement adds but it might be too much for a centerpiece
I'll be sure to post pictures when I decide what I'm doing!
I'm back! After a wonderful trip home to Ohio I'm happy to be getting settled in back at home. It's far from fall-like here so I'm sad I left behind the cooler temperatures but it will have to do. I'm itching for a new project but I don't have any inspiration. Ever feel like this? I do quite often.
I ran across this picture, which I had saved many years ago and lost when my previous computer died. It was something I wanted to do in our apartment here in FL but I never could find a map that I loved.
I still love it and might try to incorporate it into our home at some point if I can find a map I love.
What projects are you working on right now? I need some inspiration!
If you have been following the blog for a bit you probably won't be surprised to hear me say that I love the color gray. As I'm here in Ohio busy with family and friends I thought I would leave you with several gray rooms that I think are beautiful.
I love how it is a neutral yet it creates such a wonderful look all on it's own.
I ran across these images on decorpad of Laura Trevey's office and I just had to share them with you all. I love the layout and of course her beautiful watercolors. I did a bit of research and Laura Trevey is a watercolor artist and she sells her bright beautiful paintings here.
Laura also has a blog that has some great inspiration! Check it out here.
I'm busy today helping a friend paint and pull together her bedroom. I can't wait to share before and after pictures!
Are you thinking about the holidays? We all know that stores are because a lot of retailers already have Christmas things out. I am loving West Elm's holiday collection and just in case you haven't seen it yourself I thought I would share my favorite pieces.
Metallic Leaf Dessert Plates $36
Wood-Slices Organic Dinnerware $36-50
Autumn Leaf Dessert Plates $29
Novelty Trees $39-69
Lacquer Coasters $14
Metallic Thread Runner $24
Mercury Acorn Ornaments $8-10
I think my favorite are the red leaf plates....too bad I would want 8-12 otherwise I might consider getting them since they are 15% off right now. Oh well! :)
I am loving my time here in Ohio and am so happy to finally be enjoying the changing leaves and wonderful fall weather. I've traded my flip flops in for boots for the next week. I'm lucky enough to get to spend the day with my beautiful niece and my mom today.....it doesn't get much better than that.
Awhile ago a did a post on a wonderful B&B in South Carolina and I haven't featured any hotels or getaways since. I thought today would be a great opportunity to feature a chic hotel located in the heart of Miami only 10 minutes from South Beach and minutes from the Port of Miami. Epic Hotel has a modern flare that I wanted to share with you all!
Pretty amazing, right? I love boutique hotels like this one and it would be a great place to stay before a cruise.
I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start! Jacob and I are in Ohio celebrating with family and I'm happy to say I will be able to stay home for a whole week. I am so excited to get to see a majority of my family and a lot of friends too. Posts this week will be more scattered but I promise I'll still be around just busier!
